The debate will go on long into the evening as to which is the world’s best hedonism resort but certainly, Cap d’Agde has to be there in the top 5, whether or not you feel it is the very best (if you have a different favorite send us your comments on the bottom of this post).
There is a great case to be made for relaxing in the Caribbean beaches and enjoying resorts such as Hedonism 2 in Jamaica and I have enjoyed some fantastic holidays there.
The resorts are well organized and offer decent value but as a European, I find the location too far and too isolated in that I can also visit Barcelona and Paris when going for example to Agde.
If you want to try a resort in the Northern Hemisphere wintertime, Hedonism in Jamaica is a great option.
If you want to explore the Caribbean then certainly though, Hedonism is a great choice.
If you are based in the U.S., another great all-year-round option is Caliente Resort in Florida.
This enclosed resort, although not the size as Cap, is a high-quality resort and although not cheap, it is what it is in that you pay for the uniqueness of the resort and the pool parties have to be experienced.
Caliente and Hedonism 2 are two great options you should try if you have the chance.
The resort is not particularly cheap cost-wise although neither is Cap these days (especially if you stay in one of the brand new villas in the campsite which cost roughly 500 Euros a night.
Having visited all three resorts, the best hedonism resort for me has to be Cap d’Agde by a mile.
The bubbles parties in the open air in the peak of summer are a highlight and where else do you see such a wide choice of bars, nightclubs, and people in one resort of this nature?
If you are a gay or single traveling hedonist then Cap will also be better for you given that a large number of single men and some women, do visit this resort.
You would look more out of place in Caliente and Hedonism 2.
Cap attracts all groups including couples, single, gay, swingers and nudists and the beauty of the resort is that everyone seems to mix together to create a place that is whatever you want it to be.
If you are a swinger, there are several playrooms in the clubs, an area on the beach where couples meet and a sauna for couples only, In addition, you have the foam parties and many couples also meet up in the bars and clubs each night.
If you are a gay visitor there is a part of the beach where gay tourists tend to use and most of the bars in the resort are gay-friendly.
Just like any resort worldwide, you will have to make the effort to mix by engaging others in conversion if you want to mix. The bar Melrose is a great bar to start at.
I plan to add 2 more resorts to this list to have a good list of 5 but I need your help! What are the 2 best hedonist resorts which are not included above? Would love to get your feedback.
